Already 5,000 walkers at the start of the 4th edition of the Zandvoort Light Walk

On 15 February, Zandvoort will be transformed into an open-air museum for the fourth time during the Zandvoort Light Walk. Participants will enjoy impressive light artworks in this year's theme: 'A journey through time'. More than 5,000 enthusiastic walkers have already registered for the enchanting evening walking tour. Registration is still open until Monday 3 February.
The Zandvoort Light Walk offers participants four atmospheric routes of 6.5, 10, 14, and 18 km. Especially the 10 km route, which was introduced last year, is proving to be a great success once again. With the highest number of registrations, this distance continues its popularity. The Family Walk is also attracting a lot of interest: more than 75% of the starting tickets are already sold out.
Worry-free enjoyment
All walkers start their walking adventure from the atmospheric Louis Davids Carré in the heart of Zandvoort. The first kilometres wind through the cosy seaside resort, after which the Family Walk and 10 km participants walk along the beach and the 14 and 18 km walkers head towards the dunes.
Along the route are stamp and refreshment stations where participants can refuel and enjoy a treat. At Strandpaviljoen Thalassa the routes merge and walkers continue their way along the boulevard. The iconic Circuit Zandvoort forms a spectacular finale before the participants cover the final kilometres together to the finish at the Kleine Krocht. The evening concludes with the accompanying finish party organized together with local entrepreneurs.
A journey through time
For the second year in a row, the Zandvoort Light Walk is dedicated to a theme. The theme of the 4th edition is 'A journey through time'. Participants will experience a journey through the past and the future, surrounded by light art, fire acts, sound objects, and street theatre entirely immersed in the theme. Walking through atmospheric illuminated streets, dunes, and iconic locations, participants are taken past impressive creations. Each artwork tells a story: from images reminiscent of the past to creations that make you dream about the future.
Walking for important diabetes research
In the 4th edition of the Zandvoort Light Walk, we are walking for a new charity: the Diabetes Fonds. Every week, nearly 1,000 people are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. That is why the Diabetes Fonds is committed to preventing type 2 diabetes and improving the lives of people with diabetes. They do this, among other things, by making important diabetes research possible. Participants can make a donation during registration or raise money themselves for this important initiative.
