Registration for 4th edition Zandvoort Light Walk now open

Enchanting evening walking tour along a sea of light artworks

On Saturday, February 15, the starting signal will sound for the 4th edition of the Zandvoort Light Walk. This third Saturday serves as a spectacular evening walking tour in the bustling center of Zandvoort for the expected 7,000 participants. Participants can choose from distances of 18 km, 14 km, 10 km, and the 6 km Family Walk. This year, the evening walking tour welcomes the Diabetes Fonds as the event's new official charity. Registration for the Zandvoort Light Walk is now open. 

After 3 successful editions, this winter walking spectacle once again transforms the seaside resort into an open-air museum for its 4th edition. Walkers will enjoy breathtaking light artworks along the beach, through the atmospheric center, and on the iconic Circuit Zandvoort. The sea of lights consists not only of beautiful light artworks and spectacular acts. Sports organization Le Champion encourages walkers to become part of the light spectacle themselves. By decorating themselves with lights or luminous accessories, the participants will together form a brilliant ribbon of light. 

Routes full of lights and coziness
The radiant ribbon spreads across four routes: 18, 14, and 10 km, and the 6 km Family Walk. The longest route of 18 km offers walkers the ultimate Zandvoort Light Walk experience, during which they are treated to an even greater variety of impressive light artworks along the way. All routes depart from the heart of the seaside resort and lead the walkers past atmospheric care stations, while the walkers enjoy the light spectacle along the way.

The 6 km Family Walk guarantees an unforgettable walking experience for the whole family, suitable for young and old. Children will certainly marvel at the magical lights that surround them along the way. The Family Walk is not only for families but is also ideal for walkers who find the 10 km just a bit too challenging. Although the enchanting light acts along the route are specially aimed at children, this distance is also very popular with adults. The Family Walk is extremely popular every year and sells out quickly. 

Walking for important diabetes research
At the 4th edition of the Zandvoort Light Walk, we walk for a new charity: Diabetes Fonds. Every week, nearly 1,000 people are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. That is why the Diabetes Fonds is dedicated to preventing type 2 diabetes and improving the lives of people with diabetes. They do this, among other things, by making important diabetes research possible. Participants can make a donation during registration or raise money themselves for this important initiative.

Registration for the 4th edition of the Zandvoort Light Walk is now open. Will you also walk along on Saturday, February 15, 2025? Registration is open until the beginning of February or until the participant limit is reached.
