Zandvoort will be transformed into a paradise of lights on February 18th

Coastal village welcomes spectacular evening walking event Zandvoort Light Walk
After 3 years of waiting, it is almost time: the 2nd edition of the Zandvoort Light Walk is scheduled for Saturday evening, 18 February. For one evening, Zandvoort will be fully decorated with the most beautiful light art installations and acts, which are expected to attract 7,000 walkers. The new routes of 6, 14, and 18 km will take participants through Zandvoort, across the beach, and along the racetrack.
Walking enthusiasts are coming from far and wide on Saturday evening, 18 February, to walk past a sea of lights in the dark in Zandvoort. In addition to the many participants from the region, there will be walkers at the start from all Dutch provinces. But Belgian, German, French, American, and British walkers will also enjoy the light art installations and special acts set up along the 6, 14, and 18 km routes.
Decorate houses and gardens
The residents of Zandvoort can help enhance the walking experience and make the coastal village even more atmospheric. Sports organisation Le Champion asks everyone living along the routes of the Zandvoort Light Walk to decorate their houses and gardens with lights. This way, participants and residents can turn it into one big walking festival together. The overview of the streets where the participants will walk past can be found at www.zandvoortlightwalk.nl/bewoners.
KNRM Zandvoort as the charity
The charity for the Zandvoort Light Walk has been chosen close to home. After all, a good neighbour is better than a distant friend. Just like during the 1st edition, KNRM Zandvoort is the charity for this year's evening walking event. Participants can make a voluntary donation to the Zandvoort rescue station upon registration, allowing the professional volunteers of the KNRM to continue their life-saving work.
Among all participants who made a voluntary donation, 2 winners will be selected by draw to go on a trip with the rescue boat Annie Poulisse of KNRM Zandvoort. For these 2 participants, after the spectacular walking experience, this will also be a unique boating experience.
Registration open for 1 more week
The last registration tickets for the Zandvoort Light Walk are now available. The 6 km Family Walk is already completely sold out, but joining the 14 and 18 km is still possible. Registering and viewing the routes can be done via www.zandvoortlightwalk.nl.
